I went today and got my military ID. For some reason, it makes everything feel more official. Before I had it in my wallet, I could not have been more in, but it just seems more real now. I had to wait for two hours because the office was so busy. A really great guy from my church who is a CSM in the OKARNG got me onto the installation so I could get the ID, and he patiently waited for the two hours. He even got run over by a wheelchair. It was one of those "HoverRound" kinds. An elderly gentleman was trying to navigate his craft through a narrow doorway and his chair became lodged against the door casing by the arm rest. My friend, the CSM, jumped up to help by swinging the door open wider. Just about that time, the powered chair suddenly sprang loose and cut the CSM down by the shin. The CSM was probably thinking "I know I swore to stand in harm's way when necessary...but this is ridiculous!"
Anyway...I got my ID. The CSM will need orthotic surgery...but I got my ID. I am still having trouble registering for my AKO account, though. When I enter my PEBD, it tells me that I have entered invalid information. The PEBD listed on my orders reads one date. Someone else suggested I try my commissioning date which is a different date. Neither worked. If anyone has some words of wisdom...I am all ears.

CH Ken,
Glad to hear all went well with getting your ID. I emailed CH Goode yesterday and he said many of us are having problems with AKO and he's looking into it. The PEBD should be our commissioning date according to CH Goode, but I am getting the same invalid entry statement. I guess we just need to hurry up and wait. Hooah!
Well at least we know we are not alone! What's that saying....something like misery loves company;) I also submitted a help request to the AKO help desk. Still haven't heard anything.
