Military Everywhere

My father-in-law and mother-in-law took us out to eat for lunch yesterday. It was my first time to see them since moving to Arkansas so they had not seen my ID yet. I pulled the ID out of my wallet to show them while we were waiting for the waitress to take our drink orders, and as my father-in-law looked at it, the waitress came up. She immediately recognized it as a military ID. It turns out her husband had just gotten out after being in for 13 years. She asked me about my service and as we were getting ready to leave she said "Thank you for what you are doing for our country."

Her comment humbled me greatly. First of all, I have not done anything yet. Second, there are so many who have done so much. They deserve the thanks. God has blessed me and my family so much with the privilege of serving Him. He has doubly blessed us by calling us into a service that allows me to wear our country's uniform. That also is a great privilege.

I hope I remember the fact that it is a privilege about a year from now when I am cleaning sand out of....well...never mind.

(What??!...my EARS!!!....I was talking about my ears)

I agree with you that wearing a U.S. Military uniform is a true honor. We are proud of you Ken and we know you will serve us well as U.S. citizens and as Christians. Stand tall.

Thanks Patti. You know that honor because you, too, have worn that uniform with distinction. You have also "loaned" your husband and son to our country. So even though you may no longer wear that uniform, you still serve! Thank you for what you do for our country.

Isn't that neat. I really hope you don't think you haven't done anything. You have been so open and ready to do whatever God needs.

The way i see it (quoting starbucks) : America needs more men who are so ready to do what God asks (and more families to support them.)

Thanks for the kind words. Thanks for the "Starbucks" quote, too. I have drunk a lot of Starbucks, but I have not seen that one.

Hello Bro.Ken

I was wondering if you would be planning to do anything to your xanga or if you check it at all.
(so i know to comment anymore)

I was also wondering if you could give Zack this message for me...

Tell him to go to www.xanga.com and in the place (at the right top corner) it will say username and passowrd.
in username he should enter

puddle_gloom_sunshine_dude

and his password is his name.
(he can change his pasword at anytime if he wants)

i allready wrote him an entry and left him a comment.

p.s. i have NO IDEA WHAT HIS NAME MEANS it was his idea so if your wondering ask him.

God bless you.
bye
