I typed this originally in a response to CH Kay, and then I thought "Hey...this would make a pretty good post." So here it is.
I have been enjoying the peculiar looks people give me when they ask me what I do and I answer "I am becoming an Army Chaplain." So I thought I could have a little fun with it. The next time I meet someone here is Arkansas and he or she asks me what I do I will respond: "I used to be a pastor for the last 19 years, but now I am going to become the guy that drives around in the big truck and cleans out overflowing septic systems."
Then I will wait...wait...wait...and then I will say "Not really...I am going to become an Army Chaplain." And then I will compare reactions.
Should be fun ; )
A WORD ABOUT COMMENTS:
Many of you are starting to leave comments...AND I LOVE IT!! Please keep 'em coming, and in case you didn't know...I always try to respond to them so check back after you leave one.
Just let me ask one tiny favor PLEASE DON'T PUT NAMES ; ) ... either my family or of the places we live. You never know who might be reading the blog, and you just can't be too careful. You can use initials (using my first name is okay 'cause it's already on the blog) but please don't for my family or where we live (the name of the state is okay). KEEP THOSE COMMENTS ROLLIN' IN...I LOVE 'EM!!!

CH Ken,
I can't wait. If you don't mind I think I'll try it out and guage the response. Should be quite a bit of fun. If we can't have fun with what God's called us to, then why are we doing it? Hooah!
oh I am verr sory,
i make a solemn vow to no longer do it ; )
p.s. nice post

CH KAY
I had a lump on my arm for several years that was only a clump of fatty cells. When people would ask me what it was, without missing a beat, for a while I would start saying "Oh, its cancer and I have six months to live." just to see their response. Thankfully, I have matured since then and realized really how tasteless and insensitive that was. (Still, their reaction was funny.)

No harm, no foul. There were a few who had typed a name. It was not just you. Thanks for all your support. I hope you keep posting. I really like reading your comments on my posts (I also like reading your blog.)
ha ha ha i like your answer
so, what do you do for a living
; )
like chaplain kay said it is really funny to watch peoples reactions.... because today at church, someone left an old (and out of style) big round glasses (actually they've been there almost a month) well i asked barbera and she aid she didn't care if i wore them around. so i took the glasses (keep in mind they are HUGE ROUND PINK and ugly glasses) and would ask people if they liked my "new" glasses.
they would kinda half smile and say, well there....um..... well...neat. i then told them they wern't really mine and was just playen with them.
in fact i told 1 girl that they were my new ones. (keep in mind this girl was a good friend of mine) she looked me at said i LOVE them.
but when i told her they wern't mine and i thought the were ugly, she let out a sigh and said "oh good gracious, those are the UGLIEST glasses i've ever seen.
you know what... this might make a good post.
oh and bye
Bethany
Yeah, you've got the idea on how to mess with people's minds. I know the glasses you are talking about...and ...uh...well...you are right!!! ; )
So that's where I left my glasses!
Oh...ha, ha, haaaaa, Patti (could you hear the dripping sarcasm?) LOL...that was funny.
WOW !!!!
have you ever been so sure that God is calling you to do something. and you go out and do it, but everyone you meet doing what God is saying to do, hates u.
Today I did my usual chat room routine of witnessing. and this 1 dude just BEAT ME DOWN !!!!!'
and whats hard is that when your trying to lead someone to Christ, you can't tell them "YEAH, well your gonna go to hell so ha ha ha"
(even though i know i'd never say that) sometimes i think it.
please prya for me. because i know that God is telling me to keep going. but it would sure be nice to hear some words of encouragment (rather than hatred) about what i am doing.
