We were working outside today digging up some flower beds. My little girl (about to be nine) proclaims "I just ate a worm!" Unimpressed and unconvinced my wife and I just "uh-huh"-ed her brushing her off. In a little bit, she approaches again (not to be taken lightly) and announces she intends to repeat her feat.
This time, though, we see dangling from her fingers half (I underscore the word half) of a worm. Open goes the mouth....in goes the worm.
She did it. She actually did it and I saw it with my own eyes. The look on her face betrayed her emotions. I think she shocked herself more than she did us; however, she did keep it down.
What else could a father do at that point....I gave her a high five.
Later, my wife and I agreed. Her stunt both impressed us and scared us to death. Today...a worm...tomorrow???

Wow!!! To my knowledge neither you nor any of your rough and ready brothers ever ate a worm. If you did I guess I don't really want to know. Give her a high five and a big hug from us! Love you. Mom and Dad
