I took my oath of office last night. I could really go on and on about my different emotions and reflections...but in regards to you still finding my blog interesting to read I won't. I will just say that it was as close to perfect as I think it could have been:
- my mom and dad were able to attend
- my wife and kids were able to attend
- the man who was my pastor through most of my formative years was there to speak
- my church family was able to witness it
- I presented each of my kids with a Military BRAT coin
- I presented my wife with a nice presentation of "The Military Wife Crest"
- my good, good friend, 2LT Dave was able to administer my oath
It really was a great night. Today I am faxing the commissioning papers to Arlington so later in the week I should be able to get my ID. Pics were taken so as soon as I get them I will post a couple.

CH Ken,
What a great service! You are blessed to have such a wonderful congregation that is willing to support you during this time. I am glad some many of your loved ones were able to attend. God is good. Hooah!
CH Ken, Congratulations. Is the 2Lt that performed your commissioning the same on you have a link to as CH Dave? If so, I knew him when he was pastoring in Evensville Tn. He is a good man. Anyway. God bless you and see you in June.
Chaplain - and I can truly call you that now thay you have taken your oath of office - congratulations and thank you for this major step of faith for you and your family. Perhaps our paths will cross someday in the years ahead. God's blessings on you and your family during your initial training and assignment.
TO CHAPLAINS KAY AND OLSON
Thank you so much guys, and I am looking forward to seeing you in June.
TO CH LEWIS
I loved the title to your blog page: "and out of a job when Jesus comes" That is great!! Even so Lord Jesus, quickly come!!
It was a beautiful ceremony! We came away from that night with all kinds of emotions. Maybe the best way to sum it all up is, "Hey, that's our son! Thank you Lord!"
We know that the Lord has great plans for you and as always, We are there with prayers and love. Mom and Dad
Thanks Mom and Dad, it really made it special for me for you to have been there. I love you both
